How To Treat Delayed Ejaculation

Delayed ejaculation is a male sexual dysfunction not known nearly as much as premature ejaculation. Retarded ejaculation refers to a state of inhibition, meaning that a man is in the unfortunate situation of being unable to ejaculate for some reason or other.

Male Ejaculation is seen as the ultimate conclusion of sexual stimulation. Through intercourse or masturbation, it provides a strong sense of pleasure that all of us men are looking for. It is the natural objective of all sexual rituals, driven by our most basic instincts. The process leading to male ejaculation can be varied and may or may not coincide with orgasm. In other words, a man can orgasm once or more before ejaculating.

Is male ejaculation all positive? Unfortunately, sexual dysfunctions are more common in today’s modern world. The explosion in the number of physical and psychological issues does have a major influence. Our lifestyles, characterized by poor diet and less physical activity, and a more polluted environment has led to male sexual problems, such as delayed ejaculation.

The most observed type of retarded ejaculation occurs when a man is unable to ejaculate while having sex with his partner. What causes such a situation? If a man can ejaculate well enough, when masturbating, there is no physical reason he cannot do it with his partner. Consequently, the causes for the dysfunction are likely to be purely psychological. Most men experiencing such a situation may be affected by the following factors :

  • Deep religious backgrounds advocating that sex is sin
  • Lack of attraction to their partner
  • Some sort of traumatic syndrome
  • Less comfort due to one partner cheating on the other

Other men, however, cannot achieve ejaculation through self-stimulation, despite having a healthy sexual relationship with their partners. Some of the causes mentioned above may also apply in this case. Certain religious beliefs and teachings strongly discourage the practice of masturbation or any other forms of sexual activity, considered to be wasting and sinful.

In such cases, your mental forces may not be strong enough to push your body to feel something. It might work once or on a sporadic basis or not at all. Seeking professional psychological advice will be much more beneficial. Sexual therapists can suggest a way out of the problem by discussing the situation at length with both partners.

The basic idea in treating delayed ejaculation is to teach the two partners about sexual stimulation and response in order to help them understand their own needs. Instead of using willpower to force the mind, the partners should focus on their ability to create an intimate setting that would provide ideal stimulation and so solve the problem.

Men suffering from delayed ejaculation can also use home therapy. There are little tricks every man can use to bring sex closer to an ideal situation. Relaxation always helps, which means that candle-lit rooms, romantic dinners, a bit of alcohol and perhaps some porn could prove very helpful, if both partners agree on this approach. Avoid delicate issues in conversation and focus on having fun in a relaxed way. Hug and caress instead of rushing to the sex part and be sure to take your time.

An exercise program designed to control your pubococcygeus (PC) muscle is also a very interesting solution. The PC muscle is instrumental in controling ejaculation and a good workout, mixing routines to relax and tense that muscle will likely improve your situation significantly. If you are interested in this solution, I recommend the Penis Health program. It features a complete series of effective exercises designed to train the PC muscle.
